Maya is a choral nerd, swimmer, and Great British Baking Show enthusiast. She is the loving mom to Magnus and Maple and has the world’s best partner in crime, Max Muehleip. Maya studied Vocal Music Education and Psychology at Concordia College Moorhead, where she sang under René Clausen and the world-renowned Concordia Choir, and for the past nine years, she has been an elementary music teacher in Portland, Oregon. During that time, she also conducted the Music Maker and Nova I/II Choirs with the Pacific Youth Choirs. Maya recently joined Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in her new capacity as the St. Cecilia Choir Director.
When Maya is not teaching music, you can find her writing children’s books, baking gluten-free and dairy-free treats, and spending time outdoors in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
